This is screenshots from my DX7 outdoor engine with some neat features like:
Quadtree culling
Rottger's LOD algorithm (not used)
Terrain generation (perlin) or loading (heightmaps)
Terrain texturing & lighting (not very great)
The standard stuff (Particle systems, gouraud shaded objects, spherical envmapping etc )
3D sounds, using DirectSound3D
